JeffCo EDC Business Retention & Expansion
Carter is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Auburn University and is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Public Administration also from Auburn University. Carter works on our business retention efforts focusing specifically on the manufacturing sector. He will connect manufacturers to resources and partners to help them grow within Jefferson County. Carter enjoys playing soccer, watching Auburn Football games, and spending time with his cat, Gandalf.
David focuses on Jeffco EDC’s business retention and expansion (BRE) program and is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with primary employers in Jefferson County.
David has more than 20 years of experience as an executive leader spanning business development, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement along with arts and culture advocacy roles.
Previously, he served as the Executive Director for the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce. During his tenure, he expanded membership, business retention efforts and implemented programs that continue to support local businesses and its workforce. His leadership during the pandemic was recognized with the 2022 Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence in the category of best Pandemic Response for Business. Prior to that role, he served as Director of Operations for Historic Grant Avenue, a creative co-working space, and Membership Sales Representative for the Downtown Denver Partnership.
David earned a Master’s in Business Administration in nonprofit management from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Colorado State University. David is a Colorado native; he enjoys tennis, hiking and stays active in the arts by volunteering.
